PRAY OF THE DAY
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
Affliction affects everyone at some point. Christians are not immune to affliction, and the Bible tells us that we will face trials and tribulations in this world.
However, as followers of Christ, we have hope that sustains us through every hardship. We are reminded in the book of James that the testing of our faith produces perseverance, and perseverance leads to maturity and completeness:
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
(James 1:2-4)
